Fairgrounds - especially those located in the middle of a metropolitan catchment area - have the challenge of allowing multi-layered traffic onto the site during the set-up and dismantling of their events. The traffic situation, which is usually critical anyway, is then further burdened during the set-up and dismantling periods. Plannable data in advance do not exist, a lot of manual work, stress and tense traffic situations are the result.
VisiTrans, as a cooperation partner of Messe Berlin, has therefore started the development of the web-based software VisiFair. VisiFair is to generate timeslots to parking areas in the run-up to a trade fair and offer them via a booking platform. Arriving traffic can be routed via decentralized apron areas and then receive a signal in time to drive off, so that they arrive on time at their booked timeslot on the exhibition grounds.
The software addresses the challenge of creating "order on the site" while generating additional revenue potential for the site operator. The target launch date for the first version of the software is summer/fall 2022.
